Scope and Contents
There are 12 handwritten pages of drawings and notes concerning willows and, according to a notation by Carleton R. Ball, the manuscript of an account published, with descriptions of new species, in part in Charles F. Wheeler and Erwin F. Smith’s Catalogue of the Phaenogamous and Vascular Cryptogamous Plants of Michigan… (Lansing, W. S. George, 1881; HI call no. DS70 MI W562C). Also found here are three letters from Bebb in Rockford, Illinois, to Townshend S. Brandegee (13 February 1878) and William C. Cusick (25 February, 7 March 1887), identifying and discussing willows.
