Scope and Contents

This series is made up mostly of correspondence, but it also includes clippings, articles, and manuscript materials. It includes correspondence on botanical topics, several letters thanking Degener for copies of his Flora Hawaiiensis, and some letters expressing Degener’s negative feelings toward introducing new (harmful) species to Hawaii. In addition, there is a small box containing several herbarium labels for Plants of Fiji.

Also included are papers that were separated from the rest of the collection and unlabeled. It contains a large amount of newspaper clippings and some correspondence from a large range of dates.
