Notes on seeds sent to Farrer's manager, Mr. Redman, 1914
Content Description
This collection consists of a slipcase containing notes handwritten in pencil on loose leaf notebook paper (41 items in total). The spine of the slipcase erroneously indicates that these are field notes. Instead, the notes accompanied seeds sent to George Redman, head gardener at the Craven Nursery, which was founded in Clapham by Farrer. They describe the location and appearance of the plants, and in some cases give care instructions. There is also a letter to Mr. Redman which indicates the discovery of a Primula, thought to be a new species.
