The Handbuch compiled biographies and bibliographies of thousands of botanists, naturalists, and other individuals who had published materials on lichens. Processing Information
"An attempt has been made to keep this collection in the order in which it was received. The papers arrived clipped together in small packets. When the reason for the arrangement was evident, i.e., alphabetical, all pertaining to one botanist, or location, the folder in which they were placed was given that heading. If no reason for the grouping could be perceived, they were placed together in a folder headed with the date span covered by the correspondence. There are several folders with the same date spans." - A.K. 1984
