This collection contains a letterbook belonging to French botanist Pedro Andrés Pourret (1754–1818). Where addresses appear, the letters were sent to Pourret or written by him in Paris, in Narbonne, and in Brienne, Champagne.

Biographical / Historical
French botanist Pedro Andrés Pourret (1754–1818), also known as L’Abbé Pierre-André Pourret, was a botanist, teacher, plant collector, and abbot originally based in the region of Provence in France. Because of the French Revolution, he left for Spain, where he would live until his death. He was known for his work on binomial nomenclature and developing a large collection of Mediterranean plants and herbs. This collection is currently held by the School of Pharmacy at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (the Complutense University of Madrid).
