Popenoe's correspondents in this collection include Ernesto Cásseres Hastings (1918–2019), Francis B. Lincoln (?), Art Schroeder (1913–2001), and Ralph Sharpe (?).

Biographical / Historical
An Ecuador-born agronomist who specialized in tropical fruits, Simon Malo (1933–2020) was a member of the research faculty at the University of Florida Tropical Research and Education Center in Homestead, Florida. Later, he was director of the Escuela Agricola Panamericana (the Pan-American Agricultural School) (1979–1992) in San Antonio de Oriente, Honduras.
