Scope and Contents
The collection is a series of letters exchanged between Leslie and his wife Vera Greenwood (fl. 1977–1987) with the Dutch-Canadian horticulturalist Freek Vrugtman (1927–2022) and his wife, Ina van Teunebroek (1936– ). Included is a Christmas card with a print of one of Leslie's paintings.

Biographical / Historical
Leslie Greenwood (1907–1987) was a British painter based in Oxford whose work involved the depiction of flowers. His work was used in prints and greeting cards. Many of Greenwood's paintings were published in the book Flowers of the World (New York: Crown Publishers, 1972; HI call no. DS1 P462F). A 1977 exhibit of Greenwood's work at the Hunt Institute in Pittsburgh led to the publication of another book by the Hunt Institute itself, Flowers of the World: Paintings by Leslie Greenwood, 18 April-30 September 1977 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, 1977, HI call no. GH30 H943E S977).
