This manuscript is a 15th century copy of De Re Rustica (english: On Agriculture). De Re Rustica is originally a 12 book work, with the following contents:

Book I: Discusses farm layout and staffing Book II: Discusses soil, ploughing, and planting Book III, IV, V: Discusses various species of trees and vines Book VI, VII, VII: Discusses farm animals Book IX: Discusses bees Book X: Discusses gardening, written in hexameters in the style of Virgil Book XI, XII: Discusses the duties of the bailiff and his wife

In this copy, a seperate work by Columella, entitled De Arboribus (english: Of the Trees) has been inserted as Book III, shifting all subsequent books down one number for a total of 13 books. In modern publications, this work is published alongside De Re Rustica as an additional book at the end.

The manuscript is bound in paper boards and white vellum. Two vellum sheets were added to the front and the back of the binding as guard-leaves. The front cover is labelled faintly in a different hand: "A Monsiuer; Brack directeur des douanes, membre; de l'academie de Marseilles.; A marseilles." Within the text, there are many notes and corrections written in the margins, in the same hand as the main text of the manuscript.
