Topics range from the personal to the professional, which a large portion of the collection being his correspondence with other botanists and individuals of scientific note. The collection was received from Dr. Rudolf Schmid of the University of California, Berkeley after Kasapligil's death. Prior to his passing Kasapligil had expressed interest in depositing his correspondence in a letter to the archives.
