Lee, James (1715–1795) list of plants

Content Description

This list is titled “An Alphabetical List of all the Plants at Mr. Lee’s Vineyard London” and consists of the Latin and common names of these plants, together with a two-letter coded description, the key to which is in the front of the volume. A note in an unknown hand at the front of the volume reads, “Plants in Mr. Lee’s collection at Hammersmith made out for[?] Mrs. A. Blackburne abt. 1770.”

Anonymous manuscript extracts and plates from Lémery, Dictionanaire des Drogues

Content Description

These two volumes contain collectively 360 numbered pages of plate images accompanied by French manuscript. The images and text are extracted from Dictionnaire ou Traité Universel des Drogues Simples by Nicolas Lémery (1645–1715), a French physician and pharamcist. The images are cut directly from an unidentified edition of the work, with direct text excerpts copied by hand accompanying them.
